Our film transfer process is 100% Digital. This allows us to maintain the highest image quality possible.
Other film transfer service providers often project and record your films to videotape, and then transfer to DVD. Some may transfer to DVD, but often times, are still projecting into a camera through a reflective lens, into a DVD recorder. This was the standard for the longest time (and ours too in our humble beginnings). We realized that this process was outdated, and did not offer the quality we expected for the price. After detailed research, we invested in a true 100% digital transfer system. No lenses, no videotape. Our custom made high quality projection machines are built with 3-CCD full resolution cameras. Our process gives us outstanding image quality, stability, and the ability to customize any project.
We will first inspect your films in greater detail for breaks, mold, water damage, and other defects
Our 100% digital process allows us to transfer straight to DVD giving us a true undistorted image.
We manually monitor and watch each film to possibly correct any extreme dark or light film conditions.
The disks are created, tested, labeled, and packaged according to your instructions.
When you arrive, we will calculate an estimated cost, discuss any instructions you have, and perform a preliminary inspection. This inspection helps us to catch any potential imperfections or flaws that may be present during the transfer process and show them to you before we get started.
We will then clean your films individually by hand, with a lubricating, non-abrasive, cleaner specifically designed for film to remove light dirt, dust and mold. This not only creates a vibrant picture, but also makes the film more pliable reducing the risk of breaks in the film. We also inspect your films in greater detail for breaks, mold, water damage, and other defects.
Because our equipment is custom made, with built in 3-CCD full resolution cameras we don't need to project the movies onto any type of transfer screens, or lenses. This process allows us to input the transfer straight to DVD giving us a true undistorted image. This provides you with no cropped images, lighting issues, or images being zoomed in/out improperly. Unlike traditional projectors that still use a bulb, our projection light source is LED. This eliminates hot spots, over saturation, and even damage to the film.
Even though the films speed, focus, and color quality are all electronically controled during transfer, we manually monitor and watch each film to possibly correct any extreme dark or light film conditions. We can also remove sections where the film is blank, or un-viewable. After your movies are transferred to DVD, we don’t stop there! The files are then uploaded into our computers where we prepare them to be re-mastered onto DVD, BLU-Ray, or any format you had selected.
Once all the final adjustments are made in our computers, your movies are ready to be placed onto a DVD, BLU-Ray disk, or digital media you choose. The disks are created, tested, labeled, and packaged according to your instructions.
Project DVD Storage
We will keep the digital files for the re-mastered final copy on our computers for 7 business days. We do this just in case you request any changes, or need additional copies. After 7 business days, the file is removed, and the DVD containing the raw video files is then put in DVD storage for 1 year. This allows us to recreate that DVD in the event it becomes lost, or damaged at a later date.
